LTC...Hmm where do I even begin?
Here's my story:
Prologue:
I went to tampines library to study with Him, and Bun. After which went for dinner at Tampines mall, they have a variety of new stalls there after the renovation. I tried the food from the taiwan stall, the soup was,woo fabulous i tell you, but the ribs that goes with it was erm...They came in this bowl which appears full of it but below it was filled with cabbage XP cheated sia.
After dinner we went to Suntec to find Sexy, he's unsure which laptop to buy, that's why we had to go all the way there to help him decide[JK!]. Saw few familiar faces there. Before going we're supposed to look for Sx since Viz is giving her a lift back on his cuz's car. Funnily she was right in front of us on the escalator and it took us about 1 min to realise haha.
It was late when I reached back. 2 am, thought of packing my camping stuffs, but lazy as I am, I decided to do wake up earlier and do it.
Chapter 1:
Woke up looking at my phone, it was still about an hour before my alarm supposed to go off. Chee Yew called me, and when I picked the call, she hung up. "Wth!" battle myself whether to just wake up or sleep again, decided to sleep back. Alarm rang, I drag myself into the showers and pack my stuffs.[I'm a lil slow in the morns] I always travel light for camps, which as a result when I reached school, remembered a few things that I forgot O.o!
Upon reaching, everyone was at the canteen and I thought we're supposed to assemble at the hall?Actually they were waiting for most to arrive before proceeding. We got to the hall and assembled. After doing bag check, admin matters, we're given an egg each to take care throughout the camp. I was pretty much shocked about the egg thing, so does everyone else I guess.
1st activity, "Toxic River"; we had to pass tables and chairs while stepping on them, no contact was supposed to be made with the ground. The main goal, trail along the parade square while picking up our bags before reaching the foyer. While passing, we're simultaneously supposed to take care of our eggs and beat the time limit that we set. [1 hour was it?or was it 45mins?]
And so the game commence, what I saw was our 'normal' progress. The girls took the lead, realising the imbalance of dynamics, I decided to intervene and cut the line before all the girls was located at the front. Still had my egg intact, thank goodness. After that short struggle, time's up and the 4th was very harsh about us not working as a team and making such slow progress. So they asked again, "How much time do your need to complete this task?" little commotion broke out, and most mumbled 1 hour, so me being me, shouted "1hour!" with my smile, hand in the air. And the response shook the entire 5ths, Mr Choo's thundering voice blasted "1Hour!?Your need 1 Hour to complete this task!?No pride is it!?" and some time along the way he added "And Basthian, wipe that smirk off your face!"
Oh wells...so far it's still within my expectations of the camp. But still it took me quite some time to adjust and adapt[Still a lil rusty, been too long since I had this] we continued, this time I took the lead with alternating arrangement of guys and girls, at least now the dynamics was a little more balanced. Making a faster progress this time, though I was too focussed on gaining as much lead as possible, my egg broke in the process. O.O!
They changed the rules a little here and there, and still, we're not able to complete the task.Since we couldn't complete the task within the time limit. We're introduced to our punishment, which stays with us throughout the 3 days. 1st is standard Push Ups 2nd is some thing new to all of us I guess, it's called the twinkles. Get into half squat position, hands 90 degree out parallel to the ground, keep the stance for 2 mins and you'll be tearing and perspiring. When we're instructed to do so, Eddie started to sing twinkle twinkle little stars, I almost laughed out loud! Freak luckily I didn't because the 4th immediately scolded him. Fuuh, lucky me.
Next was lunch. All I can say was meal time was great, food was marvelous, company was great; even though everyone was too tired to interact too much, and it's almost the only time we could rest.
After lunch activity was called "Trust Fall", 1st stage, we have to stand on the table and fall back 1st relying on faith that the 4th will catch us. Lesson learnt, some of us have fears of heights :p After the 5ths guys did the fall, we took over the 4th. Oh gosh seriously it's no soft mattress man and also some people have bones made of wad ar?Stone is it?
2nd stage, they added chair on top of the table and the same process repeats. Lesson learnt, some people really fear heights :p this time the catchers need to stand instead of the squatting position they were on the last stage.
Next activity, "960 Sec no ng"; this activity have 7 stations:
1st: 6 SC need to go up to the volleyball court to find the 4th's belongings
2nd: 6 SC need to run towards the P block to find the Join SC poster, tear it down and bring it back.
3rd: 6 SC need to use chopstick to transfer ping pong ball across the basketball court.
4th: 6 SC will then take over the balls and use table tennis bat to transfer it back to the original position.
5th: 6 SC will have to do 10 sets of jumping jacks
6th: 5 SC will need to run half a round of the tracks to the fitness corner and shout "We love 5th SC!"
Last: 3 SC will have to score 4 3-pointer shot before the time runs out.
Well for the 1st try we almost made it, but the time ran out before we completed the last station.
So we had to restart, this time shifting the arrangement. Meanwhile we have to do cheers while in twinkles or push up positions. Once while doing push up Yi Qi's egg broke, she was like [screams] and since our group was too far away to hear the cheers we moved from where we supposed to be. Ended up we got punished and had to restart the round. Actually wanted to argue, but decided to hold back, since it's preset in this camp that you won't win in an arguement.Haiz
Next was dinner. As I said meal times were always great.
Then we learned about proposal writing. Break into 3 groups and did a very rough draft of prom proposal. situation from the outdoor and the boardroom was very different. Less loud but still as intense.
After proposal writing session, we headed to the canteen for reflection session. Super weird, k I need to say this, I don't have anything with Mr Choo or any of the teachers or the 4ths for that matter. My personality is always, yes you can say I'll show attitude after you directly scold me but inside I'll be thinking and reflecting, after coming out with best alternative options I'll just carry on.
Fuuh next was supper where we had biscuit and milo. We're also given back our communication devices. Lemon biscuit is super nice can!!Love it!!^^v but sians I still need to worry for my PW during the camp, team is so no cooperating fully.Feel like changing can...
Lights out, tried to sleep, just kept tossing and turning, even though I'm tired and exhausted even, I still couldn't force myself to sleep. I know Jie Chou also couldn't sleep. Haiz... :(
Chapter 2:
Woke up with back pain and all, wa the feeling dam shucks can...Haha Jie Chou said I hugged his leg when I slept :P sorry uhh.
Eddie was the I/C and from Ling Jie, Eddie said he didn't slept so that he can wake us up. Like omg Eddie best!^^
We did some warm ups in the hall due to bad weather, followed by 2.4 km run around the tracks while cheering again...Haz was dam brave, she pushed herself to the max, she continued running and running and running. Until we completed everything. I must say I salute these 2 people sia.
After the morning exercise there was breakfast^^
Well we're way ahead of schedule then they make us play this game after getting our showering stuff. It's called "One way through" We must form a line and cross a hulla hoop without any of our body parts touching the hulla hoop. Well, from about 1h 15 Mins to bathe, we ended up left with about 15 minutes or so if I'm not wrong. XP and that's without having to restart another time since during our last try, we managed to bring the whole team across until the last person but with all the excitement the last person touched the hulla hoop, and touched like alot...haha it's okay la uh...
Ok seriously saying, I didn't took a shower, I thought if I did bathe, we'll be late. So me and few others just took powder bath and continue. Don't be to disgusted, cause by the next few activity you'll feel like you shouldn't have bathed at all.
After shower we played this game called " Just One Finger" this game is divided into 4 stations, 8 SC on each station. Objective of the game is to transport tennis balls on cardboard with only one finger from each person touching the board. Upon reaching each stations we have to do the given task, pass the obstacles and joined by another 8 more people. Lesson learned, more people, more difficult to organise...xp
We also came up with quite a few cheers during the process. And brilliant XX came up with a cheer with pride in it haha don't wanna know wad happen later say I attitude again xp
Next we're rushed to come down to the tracks again, there we saw the 4ths in pumping position and we're told to do likewise. Then they showed us how to do cheers with pride XP haha and we obviously must keep up their standards and higher since we've got strength 32 and they 14...
After which we need to chiong and get our eating utensils and be down for lunch, but this time we've got something extra to do. We're supposed to memorise the council pledge simultaneously while eating.
Done with lunch, we went up to the hall and were tasked to memorise the school anthem and pledge and come up with new cheer, new 5th SC cheer. So we decided to use XX's haha
After which, we went down to the foyer to play "Traffic Jam" they modified it to become a silent game. I have no idea how to explain to you here but can always ask me if you're curious. I had some experience on this game so all I had to do was reconnect with the trick of the game and voila! Nissa was also a great help^^ This is like the only activity that we managed to complete within the time limit xp Kena twinkles again sia...then somemore people loooking from the 2nd floor there.
The next activity wasn't so far off it was right outside the general office. It's called "Nokia on the Floor"[No idea wads the real name xp] It's like having a nokia phone keypad on the floor and our task was to type out a message.[Forgot what's the msg also xp] not so bad I guess
Next is called "Fill in the Black Hole", in this activity, the 5th have to fill in buckets of water from the water point in the canteen. Transport these buckets through the route that's been set by the 4th and pour the water to fill the ditch behind the hurdle at the side of the tracks. Sounds easy?
Well it's not called black hole not for nothing...the ditch has a small hole there that prevents us from filling the hole completely. No matter how many buckets are poured, the hole just doesn't seems to be filling up. We slugged under the hot sun and rotated around, so that at some point in time some of us will be in the shade too. We had 3 stages of this!!!Freak sia and I thought they're going to only do 2 stages haiz...But during the 2nd and 3rd stage the 4th gave their encouragement which was very....encouraging. By the end of the activity I was drained haha but the effort and cooperation that the 5th give was amazing and at the same time unbelievable.[Can tell you some of you were slacking right?Don't lie...Liars go to hell^^v]
Well the most satisfying part was when we're in the hole, like 9/10th filled with water and soaking ourself and our feet xp. Then....the 4th dumped the male teachers into the water hohohoho best!^^v revenge is sweet yea?Jooooo....!
Bath time was woo! Refreshing like seriously...
Then another activity was called "Pick Me Up" we have to collect word pieces of the same font and piece them to make up the SC pledge. All these is done in teams of 4, 3 people are blindfolded, the other would be the one leading the team. Well we didn't managed to complete this activity either and wow seriously we kinda sux at this game xp
After the game we clear the place and while the rest had group "reflections" I went down to the toilet for a erm erm XP must the Briani during dinner luhh hehe when I came back they were actually slacking sia! Followed after is when the teachers came back and we did our reflections for the day.
Had supper and unfortunately...we didn't clear the table very well and we got it from the 4ths...
Had to have 3 volunteers to clean the tables while the rest had to be in twinkles and push ups. By this time people were injured and all...fuuh I'm just glad it's lights out after that coz we have to wake up at 3.30 the following day...
Didn't toss as much this time but still it was painful....Guess wad?Jie Chou slept beside me again haha...Ehh I learned smth abt him le...Not gonna tell u wad...^^v Nights world...
Chapter 3:
Woken up by Ashok's voice" 5th SC fall in in front of me now" "Pumping position down...!" Like wow, well the reason is that coz we left the handphones on the table without telling the 4ths haiz suay sia...haha
washed up packed and I kinda emptied my bag into Alvin's[Thanks man!] so that the rest can put their slippers inside, it was like eeeww haha Joooo...! After which we proceeded with the Finale. Walk along a specified route around Woodlands. Well as I expected, couldn't be such a breeze... about 45 minutes into the walk, we're given this scenario that Ling Jie fainted and Nissa was paralyzed waist down. Our objective was to transport them 400M from where we were.
Well it wasn't such a breeze, especially with Ling Jie, Dude!!Go and Diet! haha Jooo...! But yea he's a heavy dude man...I think his neck almost broke ar looking at the way we handled him xp PS ar LJ!! No idea wad happen with Nissa they all, I wasn't inside their team.
We continued along the side of the expressway. There we must cheer continuously...Well we did great, after few days of torture and training at least we did the cheer alrite, fighting against the noise of the traffic not easy k! Wa then sometime the chicken truck drove pass us, the smell was like wooo! Like the people in front of me Hehe you all should know who luhh uh...
Before reaching up the hill we had to do this one troublesome task, and that's to remain in your twinkle position while singing the college anthem...Wa can tell you this honestly, my legs were shaking like doing disco like that xp and Chee Yew who was beside me, her hands almost want to fall off like that. But yea we supported each other,and thank god we managed to pull through that task...Chee Yew almost wanna cry xp But she's tough luhh Good one Ling Jie!
Now we proceed to the hill, here is our final and most challenging task. The 5ths are supposed to climb up over 3 large canvas sheets that has been oiled and soaped to make it difficult to climb up. For safety reasons our spectacles and watches was removed. Me being me again, I stood at the back, after a while they were not making much progress, so we strategised behind then Jian Shen came up with a plan and we used it. I thought of asking Jian Sheng to take the lead since it was his idea but oh wells I got volunteered to be the lead. So we climbed, not a very easy task afterall, the grass is full of thorns and whatnots can!Shouldn't they do a ground check before conducting this activity!?
We reached the top with cuts, bruises and bloods gulps...but it's like our badge of honour wasn't it? Well one thing that impacted most of the 5ths was this. We were told to fall in and the 4ths and the teachers shouted this: "GOOD MORNING COUNCILLORS!!" Welcome to the family...At 1st none of us spoke, we're still in the shock zone, everyone's jaw was on the floor eating the ants or smth. I wasn't sure whether to respond to that or not, but decided to remain quiet.
Haha then we headed back to College, chat chitted along the way. Hohoho overheard a couple of things, dam scandalous can!But I like xp and Wth la the Azyan, Asian and ASEAN joke dam funnie...!! :)
Washed up, received our 5th SC shirt! While the rest did twinkles, we're officially a council fuuh finally...Did peer appraisal and reflection again. Voted for exco, commented on how the council worked. Wa haha a lot of them like go toilet and erm and do the peer appraisal thing can!Funnie like hell sia! Then some quickly do and sleep, tired luhh...
Oh my favorite, they did this GOOD DAY cheer lead by Mr Teo haha it's dam classy sia, but please hor Mr Teo is so not like Superman! Sian later I share same nick as him haha...
Camp officially ended, but we had to clean up the canvases that was used just now at the hill. Wa tell you ar the sun was scorching and we're tired and it was already break camp. But one thing that pissed me dam off was knowing all that the council still slowly do the washing the canvas thing. Some people best, come and tell me later going out then don't wan to dirty their hands, testing my patience you know...XX best he like doing most of the work for all 3 canvases, he hit his nerve alr still doing so much, then wad abt the rest?You all no pride is it?
Then left with one canvas left, we ran out of soap...Then all I hear was complains after complains but not many was thinking of wad to do and actually doing it. People, even if you got the idea of what to do, then do it, if you stand there and do nothing, we're all screwed and nothing is done...So i decided to look for soap but well Serene alr did that for me, was dam proud of her la^^ Oh I learned something too but it was only after the camp that I know wad happened xp
So we cleaned, washed, the canvas was inspected and then we had to transport them to the hall there and hang it. Like that also hang dam slow...Fuuuyoo people ar...wads wrong with you!? What heppened to the lessons learned throughout the 3 days?
Before going, Kenny said this best camper award thing. I was dam shocked cause he wa holding a medium sized nice bag. Best camper was Kevin, then Kenny took out what was inside the bag; pillow, blanket, and jacket if I'm not wrong. Kevin must be feeling dam embarrassed like hell, but omg tell you all something, his parents is like over protecting him la. Cause from what I saw, he's quite independent and he have some leadership capability, not some spoiled rotten brat.
Epilogue:
Well after a hard 3 days 2 night camp, I think we deserve a little treat xp, so together with Zhi Jian, Serene, Alvin, Jian Sheng and Yi Qi we went to take a bus to CWP's KFC. After we got a seat and ordered we're joined by Eddie, Ling Jie, Siew Ping and Yee Liang. Haha had a lot of laughs after Ling Jie arrived. He's like the King of Jokes la, dam funnie can that boy! Oh btw Yi Qi's food didn't come after like 10-15 minutes or so and Eddie came later and ordered the same thing and have it with him. So I called one of the staff and asked what happened to the food or something. I don't know why, maybe it was my tone or what, she called her supervisor to talk to me instead, was like wow! Was I that fierce? But yea...Took the bus back and just faint on my bed upon reaching... All I thought of was... "Blank"
